What do you do for a living?

I supervise an operation for United Parcels Services (UPS)

How would you describe what you do at UPS?

Stressful, challenging, enlightening, surprising

What does your work entail?

Managing an operation of ten to twelve people.

How did you get started?

I got started as a union worker for the company.

What do you like about what you do?

The challenges that I face and overcome every day that define me as who I am.

What do you dislike?

The salary.

How do you make money/how are you compensated?

I am on salary, right now i work at least nine hours a night and get paid for five and a half.

How much money do you make as a UPS supervisor?

I make $14.75 an hour.

How much money do you make starting out?

When i started i was marking $8.50  an hour.

What education or skill are needed to work as a UPS supervisor?

No school education needed really, just social motivation and being a people person that could practice what he preaches

What is most rewarding about this job?

Doing the best I can and having results that reflect that.

What is most challenging?

The stress.

What advice would you offer someone considering this career?

no pain no gain

How much time off do you get/take?

2-3 days a year

What’s a common misconception people have about what you do?

That it’s easy.

What are your goals and dreams for the future?

Be the best at everything I do.
